I have been an attorney in Medina County for over 22 years with extensive jury & bench trial experience as well as strong litigation experience in criminal, domestic, civil, and probate law. I have represented numerous cases all throughout the State of Ohio but primarily in Medina, Summit, Cuyahoga, Wayne, and Lorain Counties. I am a veteran of the US Air Force where I served as a law enforcement officer. I served much of my time in Asia and worked in anti-terrorism security and response. I was a dog handler and trained K9’s to detect bombs and explosives and was responsible for extractions. I was also a Government Diplomat Escort, both foreign and domestic. During my time in service, I received numerous awards, medals, & commendations. I attended Edinboro University in Pennsylvania where I received my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science, graduating cum laude. I was appointed by the Governor to serve on the University’s Counsel of Trustees. I then attended the University of Akron, School of law, receiving my Juris Doctorate in 1993. I was sworn in by the Supreme Court of Ohio in 1994. I had my solo law practice in Wadsworth from 1994 to 2011. I then merged with a small firm in Medina and created “Jones, Thompson, & Funk, LPA.”
